On Sunday, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos made it known on Twitter that he believes the Pony Express is the main form of mail delivery in the state of Montana.
The tweet read:
When reached for comment, an Amazon PR representative said, “Of course Jeff is aware that Montana has postal workers. This light-hearted tweet was intended to reference the frequent delays our deliveries see in this state because of inclement weather. We’re often powerless to get packages to rural areas faster, and it can feel like we’re still delivering by animal.”
An anonymous warehouse worker from Amazon, currently still on strike, spoke out on the issue: “No, he had no idea we delivered to Montana. He definitely thought the Pony Express was still real. I overheard him complaining about how their prices are undercutting us even though they take weeks to ship. He’s [*******] insane. Ok I’ve got to get back to protesting - I don’t get paid enough for this job.”
